Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue Speaker Series Featuring ATF Acting Director Marvin G. Richardson

The third speaker in Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue is Marvin G. Richardson, who was appointed as Deputy Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on June 4, 2021. He is currently also functioning as the ATF Acting Director under the Vacancies Act. Mr. Richardson is responsible for leading an agency of men and women charged with enforcing laws and regulations related to firearms, explosives, arson, and alcohol and tobacco trafficking. Students may attend online or on Zoom!

A five-part series, which is co-sponsored by the School of Social Sciences, Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue, will bring a variety of accomplished experts across multiple professional arenas with the goal of understanding community needs while fostering a more inclusive law enforcement community environment. The program was designed to encourage open and honest dialogue in order to reduce barriers and misperceptions and provide thoughtful insight about ongoing efforts in communities throughout the nation that hold promise for real substantive and sustainable change.
