Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue Speaker Series Featuring Lieutenant Eric Roman

The second speaker in Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue is Eric Roman, Lieutenant with the Dallas Police Department. He served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps (Reserves) and has served as a police officer with Dallas Police Department for 19 years. His previous assignments include Patrol, SWAT, Narcotics, Fugitive & Gangs. He also has served as Unit Commander of – Assaults Unit/Sex Assaults, Missing Persons, and Mobile Field Force Units. Students can attend online or in-person!

A five-part series, which is co-sponsored by the School of Social Sciences, Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue, will bring a variety of accomplished experts across multiple professional arenas with the goal of understanding community needs while fostering a more inclusive law enforcement community environment. The program was designed to encourage open and honest dialogue in order to reduce barriers and misperceptions and provide thoughtful insight about ongoing efforts in communities throughout the nation that hold promise for real substantive and sustainable change.
