The fourth speaker in Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue is Tru Pettigrew. Tru currently serves as the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx of the National Basketball Association. As a Diversity & Inclusion advocate and committed Community Bridge Builder, Tru has established a strong reputation for building bridges across racial, cultural, social, and relational lines. A five-part series, which is co-sponsored by the School of Social Sciences, Conversations with Black and Brown in Blue, will bring a variety of accomplished experts across multiple professional arenas with the goal of understanding community needs while fostering a more inclusive law enforcement community environment. The program was designed to encourage open and honest dialogue in order to reduce barriers and misperceptions and provide thoughtful insight about ongoing efforts in communities throughout the nation that hold promise for real substantive and sustainable change.
