ASC Receives $500,000 On-Call Award

ASC Receives 3-year on call Award: CRM Services, CA State Parks

Under the direction of Dr. Thomas Whitley, Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Anthropological Studies Center combined with the efforts of Mike Konzak, has received a significant award: “Cultural Resources Management for the Cultural Resources Division's Periodic Incident Response Efforts.” The award amount is $500,000. The sponsor for this award is the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The ASC's work performed under this contract will occur on an on-call basis and will be in support of the Cultural Resources Division's (CRD) periodic responses to incidents, such as, but not limited to, wildland fires, earthquakes, floods, hazardous material spills, and other natural- and human-caused incidents. These tasks are predominately related to wildland fire response and include base camp office support, post-fire cultural resources survey and damage assessments, the development and implementation of cultural resources stabilization plans, and other cultural resources-related tasks more broadly associated with other types of incidents.
