Assistant Professor of Sociology Publishes Papers on Weather and Climate Change

Zeke Baker, Assistant Professor of Sociology, has published a report to the US National Weather Service, based on interviews and ethnographic research conducted in the Bering Sea region of Alaska in 2019-2020. The title of his report is "Weather Information Use in the Bering Sea: A Social Analysis of Risk, Uncertainty, and Marine Decision-making." Professor Baker continues to conduct research on topics of weather and climate risk and social change, particularly in Alaska and the Arctic context. With co-author John R. Hall, Dr. Baker has also published a chapter, titled “Climate Change, Apocalypse, and the Future of Salvation." in the volume, Futures (Oxford University Press, 2021), edited by Sandra Kemp and Jenny Andersson.
