In October, Professor of Anthropology Alexis Boutin and six of her students traveled to Riverside to present their research at the Western Bioarchaeology Group conference. Dr. Boutin presented a poster with McNair Scholar (and Anthropology major) Rene Rodriguez about their research on the Sonoma Developmental Center. Anthropology major Rebecca Dow and Anthropology minor Hiu Ting (Tiffany Ko) shared posters based on research projects completed for Dr. Boutin's Spring 2022 Bioarchaeology course. Current Cultural Resources Management M.A. students Erica Ramirez and Sandy Durden presented posters on their current Master's thesis research. Recent CRM graduate Amber Tedrow was invited to give a podium presentation on her thesis research, which described the community-based use of ground-penetrating radar to explore a historic cemetery near Sacramento. All of the students presented their research in an effective and engaging manner, and gained valuable research and professional skills!
