Training & Professional Development

SSU is committed to encouraging employees to further their education and providing Professional Development and Training opportunities to enhance job skills. No matter what your position is here on campus, you will discover valuable resources and learning opportunities available to you.

Continuing Education

The Tuition Waiver Program provides the opportunity for eligible staff, faculty, dependent children, spouses, or domestic partners to take classes at any CSU campus at significantly reduced rates. You may be eligible to complete a degree with a tuition waiver or take a work-related SSU course.

CSU's Got Talent Webcast Trainings

All CSU staff and faculty are invited to attend free systemwide professional development webcast trainings offered by the CSU Systemwide Professional Development. CSU Learn

In early 2019, SSU successfully migrated from SkillSoft to a new streamlined learning portal for faculty, staff, and student employees; CSU Learn. This new learning portal allows our campus to assign and leverage content including professional development and compliance courses. SSU employees can now access required compliance training and more than 75,000 online lessons, videos, e-books, and classes! Employees can brush up on their Project Management skills, further their understanding of Excel, strengthen their business writing abilities, work towards a professional certification, and more. The CSU Learn Professional Development Courses guide provides an introduction to the resources available through CSU Learn.
