Funding for faculty travel will be distributed by the Provost's Office. The School of Social Sciences Dean's Office will gather applications from Social Sciences faculty through a Qualtrics survey and forward them to the Provost's Office.

Award Eligibility
All tenured, tenure-track, and lecturer faculty are eligible to apply for one award.
Award Amount
The maximum amount that will be awarded to an individual faculty member is $2,000.
Award Criteria
Professional development funds will be awarded for the following professional development activities, and prioritized as follows:
- Presenting at a professional conference (priority #1);
- Research-related travel that is not supported by other internal or external grants/funding (priority #2);
- Attending (but not presenting at) a professional conference (priority #3)
*All travel awards are contingent on the completion of proper travel certification. Travel to states subject to California’s ban on state-sponsored travel cannot be funded. All individuals traveling on official Sonoma State University business are required to adhere to the CSU Travel Policies and Procedures prior to undertaking travel on University business. What You Will Need to Complete this Application
- Your name, department, SSU email, and SSU employee ID number
- Information about the nature of your professional development activity:
- For conference presentations (priority #1): The name, date, and website of the conference you will be attending along with supporting materials (e.g., conference acceptance notification, your abstract, evidence of conference presentation, etc.).
- For research-related travel (priority #2): The dates and location of travel, along with a brief statement explaining how the research travel enhances your professional development and/or visibility of the School of Social Sciences/SSU (150 words, max)
- For conference attendance (priority #3): The name, date, and website of the conference you will be attending, along along with a brief statement explaining how the conference enhances your professional development and/or visibility of the School of Social Sciences/SSU (150 words, max)
- Total amount being requested ($2,000, max)
