ASC Staff Awarded the Nevada County Historical Society's Distinguished Service Award

Anthropological Studies Center staff Chris Ward and Mark Selverston, PI were awarded the Nevada County Historical Society's Distinguished Service Award for their contributions to the research and public interpretation of Nevada County history. Notable achievements include the publication of Ward's Cemeteries of the Western Sierra, the creation of Malakoff's French Connection event, extensive work at gold mines in the county, including the Kentucky Ridge slave mine, the study of a historic Nisenan neighborhood at North Bloomfield, identifying ethnographic Nisenan sites, and more.
